Pre-Code Movies on TCM in March 2017

Pre-Code.Com Site News for March 2017

No, your eyes don’t deceive you– I’m about a week late on this. If you missed What Price, Hollywood? last week, I’ll take the blame. My bad.

I’m finally in California, finally have a house, and finally have a car. Those all deserve asterisks after them, though, since I don’t have internet at the house and my car is actually under recall so we have a month in a rental car. (It’s okay… it is a nicer car.) I spent today unpacking the kitchen and arranging my daughter’s room, and warily eying all my boxes of books. I may not still have a functioning back by the end of the weekend.

That being said, the reserve of reviews I’d built up before I’d moved has now run out, so if my posting becomes even more erratic, I apologize; my family is going through a little something, I’m without childcare, and, hey, I gotta sleep sometime. But I’ll figure things out.

As for the TCM showings, they’re pretty sparse. There are a few pre-Code entries in the ‘March Malice’, with several Universal horror titles making appearances. But the real rarities show up on March 30th, an entire day devoted to Archie Mayo films of the early 30s, including a ton of offbeat rarities worth checking out.
