Pre-Code Movies on TCM in June 2017

Pre-Code.Com Site News for June 2017

Hey everyone! Holding on was again the name of the game for May. While I’m definitely sad I didn’t get to watch nearly as much Clark Gable as I wanted to, what I did catch wasn’t bad.

June has a few good showings on TCM, including Rafter Romance, a night of pre-Code horrors, and another evening dedicated to the gone-too-soon Louis Wolheim.

As for planned reviews, I’m excited to be participating in Raquel’s Summer Reading challenge, trying to hit more books that cover pre-Code Hollywood for the site. Speaking of books…

Patreon Bonuses for June

While I haven’t gotten to watch many movies lately– I did let my one-year-old watch a little bit of Animal Crackers because that’s just who I am– I have been devouring books this year. So for my Patreon bonus in June, I will be reading (out loud) Dashiell Hammett’s The Thin Man. Patrons paying more than $3 will get to hear the readings via YouTube. I think it’ll be fun. Or terrible! I’ve been practicing my William Powell, and it ain’t pretty.
