Site News for January ’17 & Holiday Wishes
Another year down the tubes, everyone. I know things were a bit rough this year, especially on this end. But I finished up my Masters (yay!), now have a beautiful daughter (yay! x2!), and am getting ready to move back stateside in exactly one week, where I will be spending at least the next three months living in hotel rooms (uhhh). Also, some images on the site aren’t working. Sorry about that; they will be fixed someday.
But let’s talk about good news: book sales from “The Pre-Code Companion” series and Thoughts on The Thin Man have totaled a staggering amount:
Yes, thanks to all the great contributors and all the hard work put in, the SPCA will be getting over $1,000! I’m so happy for all the good this money is doing, and I hope you enjoyed these books as well. I’m hoping next year to launch some more charitable endeavors, but let’s get there when we get there.
As per my annual tradition, here are the best movies I reviewed on the site in 2016:
I will be back January 9th with new reviews. Until then, happy holidays and have a wonderful new year!

Though I don’t blog anymore, I’d definitely be interested in contributing to any projects you put out in 2017 – that is, if you’ll have me!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Danny! All the best! x

Cockeyed Cavaliers is one of the many Wheeler and Woolsey pre-Codes I’ve reviewed at The Horn Section; it’s my pick for their best film overall. TCM hasn’t aired it in several years; great to see it return.
