Pre-Code.Com Site News for November 2017

So the good news is that I got a promotion at the library. So you’re now reading the blog of a Reference Librarian, which you would think meant my sentences would be more grammatically right. The bad news is that I now have a lot on my plate. So let’s see how this month goes!

TCM is an interesting beast this month. There are no pre-Code movies until the 11th, which is strange. But then there’s a half day dedicated to the great Miriam Hopkins and a full day of Irene Dunne rarities. So all is not lost! Recommendations for the month include Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Stranger’s Return, Ann Vickers, Professional Sweetheart, and One Way Passage, if you’ve somehow missed any of those.

Just a reminder: my hosting costs about $40/month because of all the images and, I don’t know, I think I personally wronged someone at some point. If you want to throw even a buck a month to me via Patreon, it’s much appreciated!

Pre-Code Hollywood Movies on TCM in November

Please note: All times listed here are Eastern Standard. This schedule is subject to change (like if someone dies or the world ends– you know how it is). See the full listings for the month here. If you subscribe to TCM via cable, you can watch TCM online via the TCM Watch site. If you don’t have cable, check out Sling TV, where (Americans) can watch TCM online or on their Roku for only $25/month. Plus you get HGTV and Food Network. That’s how I got my wife to okay it.

The films you have listed on the 11th of November are not the films TCM is showing that day per the on-line Full Schedule on the site. They show war movies instead.

Oh, those are on the 7th. I’m so bad with dates. Thanks for pointing it out!

A couple of titles I’ve been longing to check out – Symphony for Six Million and Our Betters. Appreciate the heads up.

Congratulations on the promotion. Well deserved, I am sure.
