I was driving down the road this past week and saw leaves accumulating on the ground. “No!” I yelled. “It is AUGUST. Not yet!“
The leaves didn’t listen, and it is now September. I don’t have a leg to stand on.
Speaking of the grinding maw of time, my book, Pre-Code Essentials, releases on October 28th. There will be several things I’ll post on here soon (besides just the positive review from Kirkus), but I wanted to announce that Kim and I will be doing several screenings and book signings in celebration of its release.
I’ll have a much more detailed schedule together for a separate post later, but I will be traveling (with my wife’s permission) to the United States for a number of screenings in early November.
First, Kim and I will be introducing several films on November 7th at AFI Silver Classic Film Weekend in Washington, DC. Things are still being finalized, but I believe we will be doing book signings as well.
Then on November 10th Kim and I will be doing a film screening in New York City at the Film Forum. And then on the 11th, Kim and I will also be at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn. Kim will also be doing a couple of events in LA on her own, too. And, then, hopefully you may see me at the TCM Film Festival in 2026 too…
But, like I said, I’ll post more details later on. It’ll be nice to go back to the States. Things are going well there, right? I’m sure that’s what I’ve been hearing.
