I’m sorry, it’s how late into 2026?!
Some good news to share: the events I went to in LA and Palm Springs with Kim were an absolute blast as we talked about pre-Code cinema, art deco inspirations, and The Divorcee. Our neverending book tour has been an absolute treat and I hope we get to do many more events in the time to come.

One fun thing that I got out of the tour was Kim telling me how to subscribe to TCM for only $31/month, and, since the plan includes Disney plus, I now (finally) get the network for less than two g-notes every month. I have been watching a bunch of Myrna Loy flicks and Halloween movies (you can despair at my ratings over on Letterboxd), but it’s been a real treat to have access to the network again for the first time in over half a decade.
I also got an email about Neon Noodle’s newest hand-colored pre-Code short, this time “Bimbo’s Initiation” from 1931. Worth a watch if you have the time!
(If you have any cool pre-Code projects you want me to share, you are always welcome to email me! I am extremely slow to respond; it’s not you, it’s me.)
